What to do to attempt to make yourself healthy if you are suffering from
Alopecia (Hair Loss)
Dr. Glidden’s Health Recovery Protocol For Those Suffering With Alopecia
MD Cause: Unknown.
MD Rx: Minoxidil – This is a high blood pressure medication that is applied topically to help re-grow hair. Its method of action is unknown! Its side-effects include but are not limited to: eye and skin irritation; unwanted hair growth on other parts of the body; and an aggravation of the Alopecia itself!!!
ND Cause: Chronic, undiagnosed nutrient deficiencies.
Discussion: From the Naturopathic point of view, the body has a hierarchy (or a pecking order) of nutrient dissemination. When the body starts to run out of Essential Nutrients, it will rob nutrients from nonessential tissues and distribute them to essential tissues. Hair, of course, you can live without. Therefore, when your body is chronically under-nutrified, it starts stealing nutrients from the hair (and nails) in order to keep the heart, and the liver, and the kidneys, etc. alive. Alopecia is a tricky situation to treat. I have seen people’s hair regrow to a degree that I did not think was possible. I have seen gray hair turn back to its original color. I have also seen variations on recovery. I do not know what the variables are. Usually, all that’s necessary here is to give the body the 90 Essential Nutrients and stop consuming foods that are causing net-negative effects on the human body (e.g. the 12 bad foods). The addition of the Good Herbs Circulation Support is not a bad idea as the intention of that product is to increase blood flow to the head and the brain.
It is interesting to note that the “go-to” MD treatment for Alopecia, Minoxidil, is a high-blood pressure medicine, and the method of action for hair regrowth is unknown. In yet another hypocritical act, the MDs who are supposed to be champions of the “Scientific-Method,” have no problem what-so-ever in prescribing a drug that they don’t know the method of action of. They DO NOT KNOW HOW IT WORKS, but they prescribe it anyway. Meanwhile, they vilify the Naturopaths and the Chiropractors for recommending “unproven” treatments.
My Rx: In addition to the 90 EN and the elimination of the 12 Bad Foods:
Good Herbs Circulation Support – Use the Acute dose outlined in Appendix III
Arnica montana 12x: Crush 10 pellets with a mortar and pestle, then out the powder into 8 oz of water in a spray bottle. Shake it up for a good minute. Then spray on the head 3 times daily for 21 days. If it works, keep doing it. A homeopathic text book mentioned that hair growth was a side-effect of the administration of this, but I have never tried it.
