Dr. Glidden’s Health Recovery Protocol For Those Diagnosed With Back Pain

MD Cause: This is always a function of some other pathology – degenerative disc disease, kidney trouble, arthritis, etc. If none of these are present, then the cause is unknown.

MD Rx: Anti-spasmodic meds; pain meds.

ND Cause: The first thing to consider when somebody presents with chronic back pain our deficiencies in the trace minerals calcium and magnesium. In order for the muscles to constrict and relax there needs to be a nice balance between calcium and magnesium. If either of these trace minerals are absent or reduced, then muscle spasm will be the result. The second thing to consider is a structural problem with the bones in your back. As far as I'm concerned, a good chiropractor or bodyworker is worth their weight in gold. If you have never been to a chiropractor than you should definitely make time and do it. There are many different physical manipulation techniques that chiropractors are trained in. In my opinion you should find a chiropractor who has been certified in Applied Kinesiology and/or Total Body Modification.  Additionally, there is another physical medicine technique which is not exclusive to chiropractors. It is called “Square One.” Find a practitioner, schedule an appointment, and see for yourself what sophisticated bodywork can do for you.[1]
