Dr. Glidden’s Health Recovery Protocol For Those Diagnosed With Insomnia.

MD Cause:  Unknown

MD Rx:  Hypnotic drugs.

ND Cause: Calcium deficiency, Blood-Sugar metabolism problems caused by multiple mineral deficiencies.

Discussion:  The MDs want to deliver hypnotic pharmaceuticals to help people go to sleep – and I’m the quack! I guess if you tell a live for a long enough period of time than everybody thinks that it’s the truth or just doesn’t think about it at all anymore. Hypnotics? Really?! People can’t fall asleep because they are suffering from an Ambient deficiency. Sometimes I wonder how the people in control of the monopolization of the medical marketplace sleep at night. And then I remember – it’s with Ambien!

In order for the body to fall into its normal circadian rhythm it needs essential nutrients – especially minerals – especially calcium and magnesium. The first thing that we do and anybody suffering from insomnia is give them the 90 essential nutrients with extra minerals and extra calcium. Often that is all that is necessary in order to facilitate sleep naturally. If this strategy fails, then we consider a blood sugar metabolism issue is at play. Two of the cardinal signs of blood sugar metabolism problem are: Getting sleepy during the daytime after eating a meal; Waking up in the middle of the night after only a few hours of sleep and feeling wide awake. As a matter of fact, if somebody has trouble falling asleep, the first thing that I think about is not enough calcium and magnesium, and if a person can fall asleep okay but then they wake up in the middle of the night, then I treat them for blood sugar problems first.

There are extra tricks that you can do to help the body go to sleep that have nothing to do with medical nutrition. Keep in mind that these strategies will deliver lackluster results unless the nutritional deficiencies are attended to. Any light that a sleeping person is exposed to will make it difficult for them to fall asleep or to stay asleep – even the light on a nightlight or a digital clock or cell phone charger, etc. so people having trouble falling or staying asleep either need to put the bandit mask on their eyes at night in bed or make sure all of the lights in the room are turned off. An overactive mind can also make it difficult to fall asleep. Overactive minds are due in large part to lack of physical activity. If you suffer from an overactive mind which makes it difficult to fall asleep then you need to do more physical exercise either during the day or in the evening before you go to bed. The practice of Suddhi meditation as outlined in Part 1, Chapter 8 can also help to deal with an overactive mind.
