MD Cause: A fungal infection.

MD Rx:  Anti-fungal creams, Topical steroids. Historically this condition was treated with X-Rays![1]

ND Cause: A weakened Immune System which allowed the fungi to gain a foothold. Consider Blood-Sugar metabolism problems.

Discussion: Whenever we are dealing with an infectious disease, the strategy is threefold: Deliver a treatment to kill the bug; Deliver a treatment to alter the environment of the body so that it is no longer hospitable to the bug; Deliver a treatment to up-regulate the immune system.  

When it comes to infectious diseases, the MDs pay no attention to immune system strength, nor to the environment of the body. Their treatments focus 100% on killing the bug. This is one of the reasons that antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections are rising like a plague. Bugs are smart. They will adapt and change to survive. If all you are doing to try to eliminate them is shooting at them with bullets, they will construct armor to protect themselves. Antibiotics have always been heralded as one of allopathic medicine’s greatest triumphs and successes. The downside to this one-sided treatment is only now becoming apparent, as the antibiotic wonder-children of allopathic reductionism are rapidly beginning to lose their effectiveness.
